IF Church: Different Worlds. One Family. Same Jesus.

On September 20, 2026, IF Church opened its doors in Farmville, Virginia, and 153 people came. Fourteen made professions of faith, and God has continued to move since. In just a month’s time since the launch, a total of 23 people have given their lives to Jesus. Generations and races worshiped together in a community with a long history of division, which is exactly the picture of “One Family” the church was planted to show.

The launch was the result of more than a year of preparation through the Association of Related Churches (ARC), in partnership with the Church of God Ministry of Evangelism and the State Council of Virginia. Pastor Chip Massey and his wife Johnna walked through coaching, vision casting, and launch team development. They built relationships through IF Socials, “Coffee with Pastor Chip,” and Next Steps classes, and gathered a team of 46 people. The name IF doesn’t stand for anything. It points to possibility, rooted in Matthew 19:26: “With God all things are possible.” IF is the space between what is and what could be, and the church’s launch-day message asked, “What IF this could be the start of something special?”

IF Church meets on Sundays at 10 AM in the auditorium at Fuqua School, 605 Catlin Street. Guests are greeted with a welcome gift, coffee, and warm smiles. Their children join iFly Kids, a ministry for kindergarten through fifth grade with a nursery for younger children. A worship band leads the music, and its song “What If” is on the church’s YouTube channel. Men and women are being discipled through Noble Men and Noble Women groups, and a midweek Bible study meets Wednesdays at 7 PM. The IF Bus will take food, clothing, and baptisms into neighborhoods, and the church already baptizes in the Appomattox River.

IF Church is also serving the community. It is sponsoring Little Hands Virginia’s Big Diaper Drive in Farmville throughout October. The church’s prayer is simple: His Kingdom come in Farmville, as it is in Heaven. If you’re ever in the area, join them any Sunday at 10 AM, or learn more at ifchurchfarmville.com.
