Job Description: Full-Time Pastor of Family Ministries, Ashland, VA

Summary of Position:

The Pastor of Family Ministries will provide vision, energy, oversight, and direction to the Family Ministries of The Ashland Church. The Family Ministries Pastor will work with and disciple families to Christ, creating disciples of the next generation. They will promote Ashland’s vision of reaching people for Christ and building relationships with the lost within our community. They will also share our vision and their faith within the church body, our leaders, and volunteers.

Personal Qualifications:

• Must be an energic self-starter that can function within the established vision of The Ashland Church to Love God, Grow Families, & Serve the Kingdom.
• Self-motivated person that is dependable and can work independently from staff when it is needed.
• A growing personal relationship with the Lord, where seeking to constantly develop a personal heart for God, teachable in spirit, and a person of prayer are a must.
• A person of integrity who has a good reputation with those inside and outside of the church. In agreement with the doctrines and beliefs of the Church of God (Cleveland, Tenn.).
• Ability to work a flexible work week.

Knowledge/Gifts/Skills/Abilities/Experience:

• Experience in children, youth, or family ministry (2-5 years preferred)
• A bachelor’s degree is preferred; however, experience, licensing, and education from a recognized ministry program can be considered.
• Strong leadership, organizational, administrative, and motivational skills.
• Ability to work with in the social media platforms.
