Missions Highlight
On October 5, Pastors Eric Medford and Rodney Vickers traveled to Cochabamba, Bolivia to conduct a four-day Pastor’s Conference with some 125 pastoral couples from all over Bolivia. Pastor Medford dedicated his time to illuminating the role and value of gratitude in the life of the pastoral leader. Gratitude is not only the proper response for any believer to all that God has done in our lives, but it also positions us to receive even greater grace and anointing from God to carry out our lives in His power. Pastor Vickers spoke on the value of a dedicated Sabbath rest for the pastoral leader. Practicing a biblical Sabbath is in keeping with the rhythm of life that God has established for His people and serves to maintain and deepen our life-sustaining relationship with Jesus. In addition to the conference, both Pastors Medford and Vickers preached in a power-packed service each night where many pastors responded to the call for more of God, His power and His healing in their lives.
This trip to Bolivia is just a small part of the ongoing missional relationship between VACOG and the Church of God in Bolivia. There have been multiple trips made by Virginia Pastors to Bolivia and multiple opportunities for ministry there. National Overseer Reny Guevara and his wife, Cathy, a native of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, have hosted each team and have proven to be very hospitable hosts. Bishop Guevara has a very expansive vision for Bolivia and is grateful for the partnership with Virginia.
In addition to this trip, VACOG has made a number of contributions to ongoing ministry projects in Bolivia that include the construction of a new roof on the K-12 school located in Santa Cruz, various projects at the Church of God Seminary and the Children’s Home also in Santa Cruz, as well as funding a nationwide evangelism explosion last spring.
Currently, there are two upcoming trips to Bolivia for Virginia Pastors. In November, Pastor Brad Lewis will lead a team to minister in the high altitude of La Paz, and in March, a team will travel to Santa Cruz for the Bolivian Church of God National Convention. If you are interested in being part of the March trip, please contact Pastor Brad Lewis or Pastor Rodney Vickers. Together we LIFT, through VACOG World Missions.
