How to Help - Helene Disaster Relief

Disaster Relief

District Overseer Michael Booker is leading the way on our behalf for the Churches of God in Virginia concerning emergency efforts where they need it most during this time of unimaginable devastation. The regions of our state with the most desperate needs from the recent hurricane include Damascus, Virginia, and Taylors Valley, Virginia. Covenant Fellowship Church in Bristol, Virginia, is just minutes to an hour or so away from other areas in East Tennessee that were also hit the hardest and just over an hour away from Asheville, North Carolina.

Pastor Booker and others from his church have been working to coordinate the sending of supplies via box trucks, 4x4s, and other vehicles. They have even partnered with someone who has a helicopter to get supplies to rural areas. The need is enormous. Pastor Booker said that even though there are many other agencies in the area assisting, the light of the Kingdom is shining during this “broken time.”

Pastors, the need is so great that our Administrative Bishop, Bishop Rick Whitter, has specifically asked that you encourage your congregation to assist with these efforts by receiving an offering tonight or Sunday morning at your local church for Disaster Relief for these areas where Pastor Michael Booker is involved. You can then send that offering to the State Office or donate at www.vacog.org, and we will forward 100 percent of those funds to Covenant Fellowship Church. You may also choose to assist in other ways noted below.
