Honoring Rev. Maye's Leadership and New Chair Appointed for State World Missions Board
It was a beautiful Sunday morning service at Azalea Garden Church of God as Rev. Joseph Mirkovich, Virginia’s Administrative Bishop shared a special presentation for Rev. Aubrey Maye, a former pastor of the church and long-time World Missions Board Chairman for Virginia Church of God. Rev. Aubrey Maye was stepping down from the position as chairman of the board.
A framed plaque was part of the presentation as the State Office recognized Rev. Maye and his wife Marian for over fifty years of working with World Missions for the state of Virginia. Many of those years they were leading the efforts for the state in World Missions giving as he served as our State World Missions Board Chairman. Words cannot fully express how much we appreciate his long tenure of leadership. The following was a token presented to commemorate his passion for World Missions:
As a result of this transition, Bishop Mirkovich has now appointed Pastor Rodney Vickers as Chairman of Virginia Church of God’s World Missions Board. Rodney is currently serving as Lead Pastor of Azalea Garden Church and has served on the board alongside Rev. Maye for several years.
We extend a warm Virginia welcome to Rev. Rodney Vickers as he accepts this important role for the World Missions program and leads the way for Virginia to sow into the harvest of reaching, training, and sending disciples.
