Marisol and I began pastoring the Bedford Church of God in October 2017. We are blessed to be a part of this church and community. Bedford is a beautiful town with a lot of opportunity to win the lost. We have witnessed great things in our short time here and know the best is yet to come. Our vision is: “To be a church that has the heart of God and fulfills His will.” (Acts 13:22) We desire to love like He loves, forgive like He forgives, and equip our congregation to fulfill the will God has for their lives.

It has been a joy to continue the Food Pantry Ministry that was started many years ago. We feed approximately 50 families a week. I personally begin these Thursday evenings with a time of devotion and prayer. We speak prosperity over their lives and encourage them to be a part of our worship services. We have been able to win some of these precious folks to the Lord. Week by week we witness their lives being impacted by the grace of God.

We are always looking for opportunities to reach out to our community. Last August, we had a “Back to School Bash.” At this event we had games, food, and gave out school supplies to several children. In October, we hosted a harvest party at the church and we invited the children in our church and community. On a cold morning in December, we were in the lineup of our local Christmas Parade where we passed out over 1000 candy canes that were attached to an invitation to our Christmas Program.

Recently, Marisol started our newest ministry, “Beauty Inside & Out.” This ministry allows us to teach women about the biblical principles found in Proverbs 31. A team of our ladies give these women makeovers while another team prays over their needs. I had the privilege at our last event to lead one of the ladies to the Lord. Word has gotten out about this ministry, and we have been invited to share it with other churches and organizations. In May, we will visit the Bedford Pregnancy Center and we believe this will be a great ministry opportunity.

I believe one of the greatest ministries God has appointed for us is our Monday Night Prayer Service. Every Monday night we open the church doors for a time of prayer. We come together as a body of believers to intercede for the lost, pray over requests, and ask to Lord to bless our church spiritually and numerically. It’s our prayer that when people attend our services, they will experience God’s love, forgiveness, and power. We believe this encounter will impact their lives in such a way that they will want to have a heart after God and desire His will for their lives.

I stand in awe of the work God is doing in our church, and I am very thankful for the opportunity to serve the congregation at Bedford Church of God.
