Today has been a challenging day with the loss of the Pulaski Church of God sanctuary, offices, and classrooms. Bishop Mirkovich, Director Mark Cary, and Wanda Cary were with Pastor Travis Gore shortly after he got word of the fire at the church last night and stayed with Pastor Gore till 2:00 AM. Bishop Mirkovich and the state directors, Mark Cary and David Hagee went back to meet with Pastor Travis Gore during most of the day, Wednesday as well.
We are all thankful there was no loss of life. But the church, at one hundred years old, is a true icon in the Pulaski Community. Pastor Travis' quote on Facebook during the night hours shared his heart as God impressed upon him on the way to the tragic scene - "As I drove over I heard the voice of the Holy Spirit: We will Rejoice, We will Rise and We will Rebuild!"
This is the heart's cry of the congregation as well as state leadership moving forward. Live coverage of the fire scene will be held by WSET, WSLS, and WDBJ news channels at 5:00 PM. The Pulaski church plans to meet nearby tonight at 7:00 PM.
As more information comes together, Bishop Mirkovich will share the needs of the local church, Pastor Travis Gore and his family with the rest of the state's ministers and leaders. Please watch our website for further updates and continue to hold them all up in prayer.
