Jimmy Davis went to be with the Lord on February 19, 2017. He was an active volunteer with projects on the campground at the State Office over the years. We were saddened to hear of his passing.
A portion of his obituary from the Richmond Times Dispatch is quoted below:
Davis, Jimmy Griffin, 71, of Ashland, went to be with Jesus on February 19, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda; son, Jason; daughter, Elizabeth (Andrew); two grandchildren, Rebecca and Joshua; brother, Tommy (Melinda); sister-in-law, Phyllis; and many extended family members and friends.
He was in the U.S. Army, a computer programmer for VDOT, and farmer by trade. A skilled carpenter, Jimmy used his handyman skills to help rebuild people's lives in times of need through Ashland Church of God Helping Hands Ministry and Resurrection Disaster Relief. He would teach young people patiently as he worked and always said, "Maybe they will learn a trade."
