As January comes to an end, many churches around the state participated in a time of prayer and fasting to “kick off” the new year. Pulaski Church of God introduced an interesting approach with their prayer initiative, “33:3, Seasons of Prayer and Fasting.”
They just completed their first season in January, but two more seasons (in February and in March) are included in the initiative. We are sharing their program as a highlight of this prayer and fasting month.
Pastor Travis Gore created this initiative, inspired by God as an engaging program for the local church at Pulaski. He gave out cards for prayer focus and a daily Bible reading plan. It is based on Jeremiah 33:3.
The church is fasting and praying the third week of the first three months of the year for a total of 21 days. There is a specific prayer focus for each day of each season. Everyone is also encouraged to join in prayer time at 3:33 pm each afternoon of each season and ask God to do great and mighty things in the local church and in their lives.
Pastor Gore created a daily Bible reading plan that began on January 15 and goes through the final day of the third season of fasting. During that time, participants will read through the four gospels- Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
